Job Description

Join the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization as a Senior Policy Counsel in a hybrid work setting. This role emphasizes writing and analytical skills to advance market integrity.

As a member of the Market Regulation Policy Team, the Senior Policy Counsel will play a vital role in shaping CIRO's market integrity rules. You will conduct detailed research, draft policies, and liaise with regulatory bodies like the Canadian Securities Administrators. Collaboration with various CIRO divisions is key in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and draft policies to enhance market integrity

• Engage with the Canadian Securities Administrators for rule approvals

• Review international and domestic market structure developments

• Represent CIRO in meetings and advisory committees

• Support CIRO divisions including Surveillance and Compliance

Requirements:

• Law Degree and in good standing with Canadian Bar

• 5–10 years’ relevant experience in the regulatory field

• Experience in policy development and project management

• Exceptional communication, writing, and analytical skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of securities legislation and market operations
