Principal Engineer for Protection & Control

Job Description

This principal role in the Protection & Control team offers you the opportunity to work on diverse engineering projects, ensuring both compliance and efficiency in automation standards. With a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience, you'll provide final technical approvals and lead project governance. This position demands a strategic thinker who excels in system-level challenges and offers guidance in high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as SME for protection and control initiatives

• Provide final approval for complex project designs

• Conduct hazard and risk assessments on engineering projects

• Help teams with outage planning and sequencing

• Mentor engineers and enhance continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Minimum of 20 years of related engineering experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

• P.Eng. registration or eligibility in Canada

• Strong substation protection philosophy knowledge

• Deep understanding of utility protocols and systems
