Job Description

Advance your career as a Senior Mainframe Developer with a hybrid role based in Toronto, focusing on large-scale mainframe systems. This contract position starts September 25, 2026.

We seek a seasoned Senior Mainframe Developer with over 10 years of hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2 to take charge of application design and maintain legacy systems. Collaborate with business analysts and quality assurance throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mainframe applications with COBOL and CICS

• Handle IMS DB/DC and VSAM data structures

• Write and debug mainframe programs effectively

• Resolve production issues and enhance system performance

• Create XML interfaces and support Tibco integrations

Requirements:

• 10+ years experience in mainframe development

• Proficient in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and TSO

• Skilled in SAS development for mainframe

• Experience in automation testing on mainframe

• Strong debugging abilities in a large codebase
