Job Description We are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Milling Machine Operator (Road Grinder) to operate large asphalt milling / cold planer machines on municipal, commercial, and heavy civil road construction projects.

This role is ideal for a skilled operator who takes pride in precision work, equipment care, and safe jobsite execution.

Key Responsibilities

Operate large asphalt milling / road grinder machines safely and efficiently

Perform depth-controlled milling in accordance with project specifications

Conduct daily pre-trip and equipment inspections

Work closely with ground crews, truck drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations

Follow all health & safety policies, traffic control plans, and site procedures

Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas

Report mechanical issues, deficiencies, or hazards immediately

Complete required documentation (inspection logs, work tickets, etc.)

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 2–3 years experience operating asphalt milling / road grinder equipment

Experience with large cold planer machines (e.g., Wirtgen, CAT, Roadtec or similar)

Valid driver’s licence (AZ/DZ an asset)

Strong understanding of road construction environments

Ability to work long hours, nights, and weekends as required

Physically capable of working in outdoor construction conditions

Strong communication skills and a safety-first mindset
