Job Description

We are seeking researchers with strong mathematical and analytical backgrounds to assist in fine-tuning and evaluating large language models (LLMs). Your work will help LLMs improve their ability to understand and solve complex math problems, such as multi-step algebra or logic questions.

Research Objectives:

As a contributor to this research-focused initiative, you may be asked to complete tasks such as:

Determine the number of real 5×55×55×5 symmetric matrices of rank 2 with entries only 0 or 1.

Count the subsets of a 10-element set whose characteristic vectors have Hamming weight exactly 3.

Find the number of 10-digit numbers where the sum of digits is divisible by 3, and each digit is either 0 or 1.

These tasks aim to identify model weaknesses and enhance training and evaluation workflows.

Candidate Profile:

Academic Background: Enrolled in or completed a PhD/Postdoc in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.

Analytical Skills: Ability to solve advanced math problems with clear reasoning.

Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex topics clearly and provide precise feedback.

Research Independence: Capable of working independently remotely and participating in team discussions.

Technical Setup: Reliable computer and internet access for remote work.

Note: This position is open only to candidates with a completed or ongoing PhD.

Time Commitment & Contract Details:

Commitment: At least 4 hours daily, minimum 20 hours/week, with 4 hours overlap with PST. Options: 20, 30, or 40 hours/week.

Engagement: Contractor/freelancer role (no medical or paid leave).

Duration: 1 month, starting next week.

Selection Process: Task-based assessment for shortlisted candidates, followed by a contract offer with specific timelines and workload.
