Quality Engineer
Reports to the Quality Assurance Manager on all matters. The Quality Engineer will be accountable for designs, installs, and evaluates quality process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. The Quality Engineer will also design or specify inspection and testing mechanism and equipment, analyzes production and service limitations and standards, and recommends revisions of specificationwhen indicated. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will help formulate quality procedures and plans, conduct training on quality concepts and tools, and interfaces with all other engineering components within the Company and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues. Duties and responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to the following:
Education
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering with 5 years of relevant work experience; and
ASQ CQE certifications or LSSGB is an asset.
Years of Experience
Minimum 5 years in Quality with at least 3 years in a Quality Engineering role.
Working Conditions
May require heavy lifting, working indoors, and abide by the safety rules of the plant;
On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions;
Wearing PPE is mandatory in the plant facility;
Promote and follow Health and Safety Standards; and
Flexible to work overtime as required.
Required Level
Detail oriented with the ability to interpret blueprints and manufacturing related schematics;
Demonstrated ability to do statistical analysis, O.E.E calculations and measuring techniques;
Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities;
Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings, design and implement training courses;
Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated diplomacy and professionalism;
Exceptional organization abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, using of timelines and time management techniques;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office;
Ability to work independently without supervision;
Have a high level of social interaction and communication with coworkers daily by telephone, email and in persons; and
Demonstrate State's core values and work in a team environment.
Job Specific Duties
Initiates and/or coordinates quality-related data collection from production and service activities and interprets and reports data using statistical techniques;
Collects, organizes, monitors, and distributes any information related to the functions of the Quality Department;
Communicate information on the latest standards. procedures, and requirements related to the Company's products or services;
Generates reports using computer skills and distributes these reports to various users in the organizations, customers, or suppliers;
Follow up on crucial engineering change activities to ensure ECNs are processed seamlessly;
Liaison with project teams on quality issues, travel to client's location to orchestrate, sort, confirm issues and conduct investigation;
Provide written technical responses to customers on quality issues, ex.; A4/8D, etc.; and
Any other tasks assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
