Performance Engineer

Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private clients, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.

Introduction Robertson is seeking a skilled Performance Engineer to join our client in support of an existing vacancy.

Contract Period 12 months with potential to extend or convert

Pay Rate Starting form $58 per hour

Location Mississauga, ON

Location Type Hybrid

Business Hours Monday-Friday, Core business hours

Job Responsibilities Expertise across all phases of Performance Engineering activities including Requirement Gathering, Planning, Scripting, Execution, Analysis, Troubleshooting, Tuning, and Reporting to evaluate and improve application performance

Experience & Qualification Requirements Bachelor’s degree required

6 years of JMeter – Proficient in developing and executing performance testing scripts and scenarios, with the ability to enhance/customize using advanced scripting techniques experience required

Dynatrace – Strong expertise in deep-dive performance monitoring and analysis, providing actionable insights to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks

Performance Testing – Skilled in defining workload models, simulating production-like scenarios, executing large-scale performance tests, and analysing results to ensure system stability, scalability, and reliability

Non-Functional Requirements & Architecture – Solid understanding of NFRs, system architecture, and technology stacks to ensure comprehensive performance coverage

Performance Tuning & Optimization – Ability to fine-tune application, database, and infrastructure components for optimal performance

Splunk, Log Analysis & Datadog – Skilled in log-based diagnostics and observability for identifying and resolving complex performance issues

SRE Skillsets – Exposure to Chaos Engineering, Observability, Monitoring production workloads, and contributing towards transition into an SRE role

Test Data & Virtualization – Ability to define test data strategy, collaborate with teams, and develop Virtual Services using Mountebank for performance testing

Client-Side & End-User Experience – Experience with tools to measure and enhance end-user performance experience

Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, operations, and business stakeholders to analyse results, recommend optimizations, and drive performance improvements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable performance gains
