Software Development Engineer II, Oracle Database@AWS

Job Description

Are you passionate about building highly available, scalable database services that empower customers to run Oracle workloads seamlessly in the cloud? The Oracle Database@AWS (ODB@AWS) team is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer II to help design, build, and operate a fully managed Oracle Database service on AWS.

As an SDE II on the ODB@AWS team, you will own the design and delivery of critical features that enable customers to deploy, manage, and scale Oracle databases with the reliability and operational excellence they expect from AWS. You will work across the full stack—from infrastructure automation and control plane services to monitoring, security, and customer-facing APIs—to deliver a world-class managed database experience.

Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems that power the ODB@AWS service

Own end-to-end feature delivery from requirements gathering through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, database engineers, and partner teams across AWS

Contribute to system architecture decisions and drive technical excellence through code reviews, design documents, and best practices

Mentor junior engineers and raise the technical bar for the team

Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience

Experience programming with at least one programming language

Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Benefits Base salary range: $114,800 – $191,800 CAD annually. Package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience; 2+ years of design or architecture experience; proficiency in at least one programming language. Preferred: 3+ years of full SDLC experience; bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
