Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: $40-$50/hour - REMOTE EST hours - 1 year contract w/ extensions We’re hiring a senior infrastructure engineer to own bare metal hardware and automation in a large regulated financial services environment. The role covers Cisco UCS (M7/M8, Intersight-managed), Dell, and HP server platforms: provisioning, performance tuning, and patching requirements, across both standalone and clustered Windows and Red Hat systems. Bare metal automation for provisioning and day-2 operations is currently being developed and will roll out initially on the UCS platform, with Dell and HP coverage to follow. This role will take ownership of that automation going forward, so strong Ansible skills are required.

Own architecture, configuration, and lifecycle management for Cisco UCS M7/M8 (Intersight), Dell, and HP server hardware

Take ownership of bare metal automation for UCS as it’s developed and rolled out; build out Ansible playbooks and extend coverage to Dell and HP over time

Own design and build of UCS service profiles, server pools, and fabric interconnect configuration (VLANs/VSANs), including standalone and clustered host provisioning

Serve as L3 escalation point for UCS platform issues affecting Windows and RHEL systems, standalone and clustered

Define patching requirements for fabric interconnects and UCS servers; coordinate with the team that executes patching

Troubleshoot issues across automated and manual provisioning workflows

Coordinate with the SAN team on host-side storage connectivity configuration within UCS service profiles for bare metal builds

Work with Windows, Linux, and automation engineering teams to keep hardware-specific playbooks aligned with broader automation standards
