Senior Modelling Engineer at e-STORAGE

Job Description

Be part of e-STORAGE’s innovative team as a Senior Plant Controller Modelling Engineer in Kitchener, ON, focusing on advanced energy management systems for renewable projects. Develop high-fidelity models and facilitate digital twin implementations.

In this onsite role, you will leverage 5+ years of experience in power system simulation and dynamic modeling with a focus on utility-scale energy storage. Your key skills include proficiency in PSCAD, PSS®E, and expertise in bi-directional power flows, grid stability, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align modeling with real-world system requirements for optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed simulation models for EMS in multiple environments

• Verify and validate models ensuring industry standards compliance

• Analyze ISO/RTO specific requirements for actionable modeling

• Develop a simulation environment for energy storage systems

• Present technical findings to diverse audiences

Requirements:

• 5+ years in dynamic modeling for energy storage

• Proficient in PSCAD, PSS®E, and EMT simulations

• Strong grasp of renewable energy integration

• Experience with Python for automation tasks

• Familiarity with SCADA systems is an asset
