Hatch has an opportunity for a Junior Civil Engineering Trainee new graduate to join the Engineering Delivery, Civil group to work on several ongoing projects from our Mississauga office.

This person will perform general civil engineering and design activities involving site preparation, grading, drainage, roads, paving, etc. for mining and heavy industrial projects. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing civil projects through to completion which are assigned in areas of bulk earthworks, site drainage, mine and plant roads and earth and mine tailings structures design.

QA/QC of design calculations and contract documents.

Assuming responsibilities of discipline practice on assigned

project scope.

Working collaboratively with the project managers and multi-disciplined design teams.

Quality control – Drawing and calculations checking and verification.

Qualifications:

Civil Engineering degree from a recognized engineering program at an accredited University

Experience managingand leading projects within Civil Engineering Discipline

Licensed Engineer, or eligible for license, within the province of Ontario preferred

Up to 2 years of relevant industry experience (i.e. mining, energy or infrastructure)

Project Management experience with small to mid-size scale projects.

Drainage design, storm sewers design, and storm management

Hydrology and hydraulics

Thorough understanding of the design process including the application of civil design software packages.

Previous design experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, storm drainage, access and haul roads and earth structures for large size projects.

Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.

Previous experience leading, mentoring and motivating junior civil engineers

Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills; will be self-motivated, quick to deliver on projects

Compensation:

Range: $81,000 - $84,000

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
