Job Description

Lead the future of energy with Manitoba Hydro as a Senior HVDC Switchyard Design Engineer in Winnipeg, MB. Drive high voltage design and develop engineering talent within the team.

In this strategic role, your expertise will significantly impact the design of high voltage AC and DC converter stations. You’ll mentor engineering teams and ensure all design deliverables align with project goals and safety standards. Collaboration is key as you work closely with project managers and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage design processes for HVDC and AC stations

• Train and develop engineering staff in design principles

• Guarantee that project timelines and scopes are met

• Liaise with contractors for HVDC project execution

• Create and implement new design standards and practices

Requirements:

• Graduate in Electrical Engineering, with 7+ years in the field

• Minimum 3 years focused on HVDC design

• Professional status with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba

• In-depth knowledge of HVDC technologies and electrical standards

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
