Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer

As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and design support staff for projects mainly in and around Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley. You will provide guidance to junior level and field technical staff, serve as Engineer of Record (EoR), or provide design engineering support on project assignments.

Responsibilities

Preparing proposals and scopes and budgets

Supporting geotechnical site investigations

Conducting geotechnical analysis and preparing geotechnical reports

Supporting design submissions such as issued for permit drawings and issued for construction drawings

Preparing Letters of Assurance documents to the Building Authority, as required

Supporting project construction meetings and technical inquiries

Conducting field reviews to support EoR quality assurance work and preparing field review reporting

Preparing design memos/letters during construction, as required

Preparing Letters of Compliance documents to the Building Authority, as required

Preparing/supporting close‑out documents, as required

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological engineering

Registration as a professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)

5 to 8 years of relevant experience

Strong technical, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and attention‑to‑detail and accuracy skills

Team player with proven ability to work as a member of project teams

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Strong computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD

Experience in engineering programs such as gINT, SlopeW, MSEW, etc.

Valid driver’s license to travel to and from client office and project sites

Project management experience is an asset

The salary range for this role is between $105,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
