Software Developer Intern (Enterprise Applications)

The Role

Pason is seeking a Software Developer Intern for the Enterprise Applications team (EA) for a 16-month internship from May 2027 until August 2028. During your internship at Pason, you will build strong competencies in software design and development, data structures, databases and data warehousing. You will be given challenging projects which are significant to the company and have the support and mentoring of the team to help you deliver those projects. The EA team is responsible for designing and building software used by Pason employees to manage the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Create web applications to increase efficiencies

Create applications (both server side and client side) to provide information to distributed field staff

Provide complex analytics for various departments to assist with decision making

Write excellent software using the most appropriate development methodologies

Work with the Product Management, Quality Assurance, and User Experience teams to deliver features and functionality that provide exceptional user experience

Participate in all aspects of the software development process, including requirements definition (user stories), high-level designs, sizing and estimating exercises, code reviews, documentation and testing

Assist with end-user support

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge in programming languages such as C# or Python

Familiarity with front-end web development frameworks

Scripting skills experience in Powershell or Linux shell scripts

Knowledge in relational databases and SQL

Familiar with both Windows and Linux systems

Well-developed verbal and written communication skills

Hybrid work Environment

This position allows the opportunity for an employee to work in a hybrid environment where a portion of their role is in the office and the other portion remote.

Education

Currently enrolled in 3rd year studies in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related Program

Pre-employment Conditions

Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
