Elevate your career with Affir as a Backend Software Engineer in our remote Identity Decisioning team. Focus on developing backend systems that ensure consumer identity validation across all products.

Affir is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its remote team in Canada. You'll design and launch robust backend systems, working with technologies such as Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Compliance, and Fraud to create transparent financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and launch responsive backend systems for identity validation

• Collaborate with product management during the development lifecycle

• Create and monitor vital operational metrics for your projects

• Support on-call efforts to ensure artifact availability

• Participate in team growth through interviews and coaching

Requirements:

• 1.5+ years experience in software engineering

• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin

• Knowledge of distributed systems and relevant technologies

• Strong debugging and code review skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
