Engineering Manager, Merchant Financials

About the Team Merchants Financial's mission is to serve the financial needs of the active merchants on DoorDash. Our goal is that Merchants view DoorDash as their preferred financial partner to achieve their financial goals such as faster cash flow, more capital for store expansion and/or upgrade, and new customer acquisition.

About the Role DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Merchant Financials engineering team. This team is responsible for the building of Mx financial products (such as loan/capital, instant pay) used by millions of merchants on DoorDash platform.

As an Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with product, design, and operations partners to define the roadmap to grow our sweet of financial products, including the launch of a brand new banking app. You will manage a team of talented backend, web, and mobile engineers to build groundbreaking financial solutions and solve challenging technical problems.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap

Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team

We're excited about you because you have… BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field

2+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) of 8+ engineers

8+ years of industry experience

Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment

Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization

Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition

Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
