Quantum Engineer

Job Description

Design and execute rapid technical projects involving complex, novel, multivariate problems

Guide feedback loops with nanofabrication, hardware, software, and modelling teams

Collect high-quality data efficiently to answer fundamental technical questions and improve performance metrics

Create multiple backup plans and alternative paths to success

Synthesize data and models into actionable system requirements

Make technical decisions quickly while maintaining broader system context

Collaborate with product engineering teams spanning device physics, classical computer architecture, and compilers

Drive T centre qubits to the highest possible quality at scale

Requirements Master's or PhD in Experimental Quantum Information, Physics, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience in academia or industry

Exceptional experimental & technical instincts and judgement

Deep familiarity with one or more quantum computing platforms, such as ion traps, neutral atoms, defect centres, solid-state spins, or superconducting qubits

Experience driving multi-qubit systems at high fidelity

Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations in rapidly changing R&D environment

Demonstrated ability to creatively solve engineering and physics problems

Outstanding teamwork skills

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Ability to work in the Greater Vancouver Area

Eligible for work permit sponsorship and relocation support
