As part of the leading Linux Kernel team at Arista, you will oversee kernel development within our EOS platform. This high-impact role consists of enhancing kernel functionality and integrating new CPU architectures while collaborating with external vendors and the upstream community. You will utilize your strong C programming expertise and contribute to both our development and the wider Linux ecosystem while guiding junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance Linux kernel features and tests

• Collaborate with hardware vendors for kernel component integration

• Track and contribute to upstream Linux developments

• Develop and run automated tests ensuring high-quality features

• Mentor and support junior engineers in the development workflow

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field + 3 years experience

• Advanced programming skills in C; familiarity with Python and C++ is a plus

• Hands-on experience with Linux kernel design and implementation

• Solid understanding of networking architecture

• Strong independent and team collaboration skills
