At its core, this position is about engineering the backbone of Canadian Tire's cloud data ecosystem. You’ll design, build, deploy, and support

enterprise cloud platform capabilities

within Azure, with a heavy focus on

Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform ,

CI/CD pipeline development

through Azure DevOps, and

PowerShell automation . The work spans reusable module development, standardized deployment patterns, and operational tooling that helps the broader team move faster and more reliably. Beyond the hands‑on engineering work, you’ll also provide

technical oversight

across cloud engineering deliverables — conducting code reviews, establishing quality gates, and coaching junior and intermediate engineers. You’ll collaborate closely with architects, data engineers, security, infrastructure, and product teams, and be expected to communicate technical risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to both technical colleagues and business stakeholders. broadband salary range of $64,000 – $106,000 , with a typical hiring range between

This role covers a wide range of engineering and leadership activities, from writing Terraform modules to facilitating cross‑functional technical sessions. Day‑to‑day, you’ll be expected to deliver high‑quality, production‑grade platform work while also helping to raise the engineering bar for the team around you.

Collaboration, technical rigour, and operational ownership

are central to how success is measured in this position. Design and build

enterprise cloud platform capabilities within Microsoft Azure to support secure and scalable data, analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads Develop and maintain

Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, including reusable modules, standardized deployment patterns, and automated provisioning Build automation

scripts, deployment pipelines, platform services, and operational tooling to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency Create and optimize

automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and cloud‑native tools Design and maintain

Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud infrastructure and platform service deployments Establish branching strategies , Git‑based workflows, pull request practices, and release management standards across the team Conduct code reviews

of Terraform modules, automation scripts, and deployment pipelines, ensuring quality, security, and maintainability standards are met Engineer and support

platform capabilities across Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related data governance services Lead technical working sessions

to review designs, resolve blockers, and align teams on delivery plans Identify and communicate

technical risks, dependencies, and path‑forward recommendations to delivery teams and leadership Support monitoring, incident resolution , root cause analysis, disaster recovery, and operational improvement activities Coach junior and intermediate engineers

by promoting best practices, reusable patterns, and a continuous improvement mindset Create and maintain

Canadian Tire is looking for a technically strong, collaborative engineer who brings both

deep hands‑on cloud expertise

and the communication skills to work effectively across teams and stakeholder groups. You should be comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity, driving work forward independently, and mentoring others along the way. 5–8+ years of experience

in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related disciplines Strong hands‑on Terraform skills , including reusable module development, state management, secure deployment patterns, and infrastructure‑as‑code best practices Advanced PowerShell experience

for building automation solutions in cloud environments Hands‑on Azure DevOps experience , including Git workflows, branching strategies, CI/CD pipeline design, and release management Experience with Azure data platform technologies

such as Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Synapse Analytics is preferred Strong understanding of cloud networking , identity and access management, security, monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery concepts Demonstrated ability to conduct code reviews

and ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, security, and operational readiness standards Strong communication skills

— able to explain technical details, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Bachelor’s degree

in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent combinations of education and practical experience may be considered Certifications in Azure, Terraform, Databricks, DevOps , or related areas are considered an asset Experience in retail, data platform, analytics, or enterprise cloud environments

is an asset 5-8+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Application Development, or related disciplines. Strong hands‑on Terraform skills including reusable modules, state management, and secure deployment patterns. Advanced experience building automation solutions using PowerShell. Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, branching strategies, CI/CD pipeline design, and release management. Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, security, monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery concepts.
