Job Description

Full-Stack Product Engineer - AI/Vibe-Coded Platforms (remote, Canada) ** Must be eligible to work in Canada **

Contract | Immediate Start | 20–40 Hours/Week | Initial 2–3 Week Sprint | $65–$85/Hour We are looking for a highly capable Full-Stack Product Engineer to jump into several substantially built AI/vibe-coded platforms and help move them from “mostly there” to stable, functional and launch-ready.

This is an intensive initial 2–3 week sprint at approximately 20–40 hours per week, with the opportunity for ongoing contract work over the next 6–12 months across multiple products.

The platforms already exist. The concepts, workflows, functionality and much of the UI have been built.

We now need someone who can quickly get under the hood, understand what has been generated, diagnose what is not working, repair it properly, strengthen the architecture where required and rapidly move products toward market.

We are building in underserved and largely unaddressed markets, and we move quickly.

This is not a traditional long-cycle software development environment.

We are looking for someone who can assess fast, troubleshoot intelligently, make pragmatic technical decisions and execute.

What You’ll Be Doing Rapidly audit and understand existing AI/vibe-coded applications.

Diagnose issues across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, authentication and application state.

Debug broken or inconsistent workflows end to end.

Repair data persistence, permissions, authentication and user-role issues.

Stabilize database reads, writes, relationships and application logic.

Build missing backend or frontend functionality where necessary.

Improve validation, error handling, loading states and user feedback.

Refactor fragile, duplicated or unnecessarily complex AI-generated code.

Connect and troubleshoot third‑party APIs and services.

Improve frontend implementation and responsive behaviour where needed.

Ensure key workflows function consistently across desktop and mobile.

Add appropriate logging, testing and monitoring.

Identify where an issue requires a true engineering fix versus a better AI prompt or configuration change.

Help determine what should be repaired, refactored, replaced - or simply left alone.

Move multiple products quickly toward stable, launchable releases.

Technical Background - You do not need experience with every technology below, but you should be comfortable navigating modern full-stack environments that may include:

Frontend React

Next.js

TypeScript

HTML / CSS

Tailwind CSS

Responsive and mobile‑first development

State management

Node.js

Express

Serverless functions

Python where appropriate

REST APIs

GraphQL

Webhooks

Background jobs

Third‑party integrations

Supabase

Firebase / Firestore

MySQL

Prisma or similar ORM

Permissions and user‑role architecture

Infrastructure / Deployment Replit

Vercel

AWS or similar cloud platforms

Serverless infrastructure

Git / GitHub

CI/CD

Docker familiarity is an asset

Authentication / Payments / Integrations - Experience with some combination of:

OAuth

Auth0

Supabase Auth

Firebase Auth

Stripe

Email APIs

SMS APIs

Push notifications

File and image storage

Analytics platforms

External APIs

AI Development Experience Matters This role is specifically suited to someone comfortable working inside the emerging AI‑development ecosystem. Experience with tools such as below is highly valuable:

Replit / Replit Agent

Cursor

OpenAI Codex

Windsurf

Lovable

v0

Other AI coding agents or application builders

You should understand both the speed AI development creates and the technical debt or fragility it can introduce.

We do not want someone whose instinct is to automatically rebuild everything from scratch.

We also do not want someone whose only troubleshooting strategy is to keep prompting the AI.

We want someone who knows when AI should do the work—and when an engineer needs to take over.

You’re Probably a Strong Fit If You… Can open an unfamiliar codebase and quickly understand how it works.

Enjoy debugging as much as building.

Are comfortable inheriting software you did not originally architect.

Have strong enough frontend instincts to recognize when a technically correct fix creates a poor user experience.

Can make sensible product and engineering trade‑offs without overengineering.

Communicate technical issues clearly and in plain English.

Work independently.

Are highly execution‑oriented.

Enjoy startup‑style environments where priorities move quickly and speed matters.

Initial Engagement The initial engagement will be 20–40 hours per week for approximately 2–3 weeks. Immediate availability is strongly preferred.

The objective is to rapidly audit, debug, stabilize and advance several existing products.

For the right person, there is significant opportunity for ongoing contract work over the following 6–12 months as additional products are developed, tested and launched.

We care much more about speed, judgment and output than hours logged.

Compensation $65–$85/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated capability - independent engineers strongly preferred.

Please note: You must be eligible to work in Canada.
