Controller (6 Month Contract)

Our client, a growing Calgary-based organization in the construction industry, is looking for a

Contract Controller

to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong

Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, or emerging Controller

who enjoys being hands-on while also taking ownership of financial reporting and helping coordinate the broader accounting function.

The successful candidate will work closely with finance leadership and serve as a key link between leadership and the AR, AP, and bookkeeping functions.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and month/year-end reporting

Manage intercompany accounting across multiple related entities

Coordinate accounting activities across AR, AP, and bookkeeping

Support process improvements, controls, and accounting system initiatives

What We're Looking For:

3-5+ years

of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience

Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and period-end close experience

Experience with intercompany accounting and coordinating accounting activities

Hands‑on, adaptable approach with strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have:

CPA designation, CPA candidate, or recognized international accounting designation

Construction, project-based, or multi‑entity accounting experience

Experience improving accounting processes, systems, or workflows
