Job Description

Shape Lyft's Data Platform as the Engineering Manager for the Lakehouse Foundation team, focusing on data layer management. Lead in a collaborative hybrid work environment.

In this leadership role, you will direct a team responsible for Lyft’s core data management and foundational architecture. As you drive modernization projects and cultivate a culture of strong ownership, you will also ensure reliability across critical systems that support Lyft’s AI initiatives. Mentor engineers while collaborating cross-functionally to achieve cohesive enhancements in the data landscape.

Key Responsibilities: • Directly lead the team managing the foundational data layer • Oversee the modernization strategy including Unity Catalog • Partner with Data Platform and engineering teams effectively • Establish the technical roadmap for architectural evolution • Mentor engineers for their professional and technical growth

Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years as Engineering Manager with 5+ engineers • Proven experience in data platforms and lakehouse systems • Successful background in leading migrations and transitions • Excellent cross-team collaboration and alignment • Ability to build an inclusive and ownership-driven team culture
