Mechanical Engineer for Mining Projects

Job Description

Join Sedgman in Vancouver as a Mechanical Engineer focusing on mining and heavy industrial projects. Collaborate with a dynamic team to enhance mechanical design and piping processes.

The Mechanical Engineer will work on a variety of projects, contributing intermediate-level engineering services and managing mechanical process equipment design. Ideal candidates will have robust design experience in mining, especially in mechanical equipment, platework, and piping. You will also provide support in technical specifications and design improvements based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver mechanical and piping design for capital projects

• Develop process equipment, platework, and pipework designs

• Supervise drafting and 3D modeling during design phases

• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare design layouts

• Ensure adherence to Sedgman design workflows

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in mining projects

• Registered engineer with EGBC or eligible

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Plant3D

• Strong organizational and communication skills
