Job Description

Make your mark at Lyft as a Data Engineer on the Safety and Customer Care team. This role focuses on enhancing data pipelines and analytics while working in a supportive hybrid model.

You will play a critical role in the SCC, overseeing data modeling and ensuring efficient integration for AI applications. Your technical contributions will help transform user interactions into meaningful connections, making Lyft safer for both drivers and riders. Collaboration across teams will enable the alignment of business needs and data strategies.

Key Responsibilities: • Own the core data pipeline and scale for rapid growth • Modify data models based on evolving business needs • Develop systems for monitoring data quality • Support ETL with management tools for data pipelines • Optimize SQL and MapReduce job performances

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field • Four years of data engineering in large systems • Proficient in Spark, SQL, and performance tuning • Experience with AWS, Hive, and Airflow • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL
