The Opportunity:

The  Director of Gender-Based Violence Prevention Programs  is a key member of the Operational Team and will report to the Executive Director and Associate Executive Director. You will provide leadership in areas of planning, budgeting, implementation, delivery and evaluation of Ka Ni Kanichihk’s Gender-Based Violence Prevention initiatives. As a seasoned, dynamic, creative and self-motivated professional, you thrive on providing people and community-centered services and managing quality programs. You will foster and maintain multiple stakeholder relationships, serve as direct management for youth and education programming, and work in collaboration with the Operational team to provide leadership, coaching and resources.

What You Will Be Doing…

Program Administration:  Responsible for all facets of program management and implementation, including planning, budgeting, evaluation and reporting;

Management of Program Staff : Provide appropriate training for program staff on program goals, objectives, activities and procedures;

Operational Team Participation:  Responsible for active participation and leadership in organization management functions and decision-making processes;

Leadership : Prepare presentations, briefing notes, and progress reports for Executive Director, Associate Executive Director, Council, Advisory Committee and funding bodies as required; Prepare monthly, mid-term reports and annual reports or as required;

Program Planning and Service Coordination : Develop and implement operational directives and work plans; Identify and create programming opportunities pertaining to Indigenous community-centered care and to build the GBV prevention network;

Program Reporting and Licensing:  Responsible for ensuring all licensing standards are met and compliance regulations are identified and maintained;

Human Resource Management:  Participates in the recruitment, selection, maintenance and professional development of a competent staff team with clear delegation of responsibility and accountability;

Financial Management:  Responsible for the development, management, and implementation of multiple program-based budgets from an approved financial plan; Develop a program-based budget which accurately reflects service priorities, program deliverables, and staffing requirements;

Community Liaison:  Work collaboratively with government officials and related community service organizations to achieve organizational and program goals to build strong relations; Establish effective and robust working relationships with community partners directly involved in program delivery;

Self-Aware and Reflexive  – Able to accurately assess yourself, including your strengths and weaknesses, remaining open to new information or ideas;

You Have:

Post-Secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience;

2-3 years of direct management or supervisory experience;

Experience in Gender Based Violence Prevention and Intervention Programs;

Ability to manage programs inclusive of planning, administration, staffing, and reporting;

Leadership and Management skills, including Crisis Management and Trauma Informed Care;

Ability to read, analyze and interpret detailed reports, budgets, funding agreements and prepare and/or review draft communications;

Superior computer skills with MS Office software, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook and very conversant with social media platforms;

A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including sound judgment and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
