Dynamic Therapy Assistant Position

Job Description

Become a Therapy Assistant with SE Health at Mackenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill, focusing on acute care programs. This role is vital in enhancing patient therapies and independence.

As part of a supportive health care team, you will work closely with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. The responsibilities involve assisting in treatment execution and leading beneficial exercise sessions. A commitment to maintaining communication about patient progress and adhering to safety standards is key. Some evening hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities: • Support therapists in implementing treatment strategies • Conduct mobility training and strength exercises • Lead safe and engaging exercise classes • Prepare therapy areas and equipment • Maintain ongoing communication about patient needs

Requirements: • Completed OTA/PTA diploma required • Minimum one year experience in inpatient care preferred • Understanding of therapy tools and techniques • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment • Up-to-date BLS certification and background screening
