Therapeutic Recreation Worker Position

Job Description

Drive the quality of life for seniors by becoming a Therapeutic Recreation Worker at Southern Health‑Santé Sud. Focused on older adults, this role requires creativity and dedication.

In this position, you’ll need to demonstrate initiative and independent judgment while engaging clients in both hospitals and care facilities. A minimum of two years’ experience is preferred, along with a Grade 12 education and a recognized therapeutic recreation certification. Compliance with confidentiality and a valid Class 5 driver's license with sufficient insurance coverage are essential.

Key Responsibilities: • Develop tailored recreational programs for clients • Assess and document the effectiveness of activities • Employ independent judgment in client interactions • Promote a culturally respectful environment • Occasionally travel to other regional facilities

Requirements: • Two years of relevant experience with older adults • Essential Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent education • Proficiency in both official languages required • Valid Class 5 driver's license with an insured vehicle • Ability to fulfill the physical and mental job requirements
