Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: AsaManager, SoftwareEngineering,you’lllead and managea team of software developers and leads in the development and maintenance of our web and mobile platformsand digital properties, ranging from our front-end user experience to our middleware and backend integrations withinour ERP.In this role, youplay a key role inboth leadership and execution ofthe technology strategy,acrossend-to-endheadless systemstodeliver our e-commerce guest experiencesvia web and mobile platforms.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work (operating on Pacific Standard Time (PST)). Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Providingdirection and coaching to theecommservicesdevelopment teams in all phases of the project life cycle

Attracting,retaining, and developing top talent to build a world-class software engineering/ web development team, developing career pathways for your team members and help them grow through coaching, mentoring, goalsettingand ongoing assessment

Inspiringeach team members’ creativity and problem-solving abilities

Developingfunctional specifications and designs for future focused complex applications ormodifying/maintaining complex existing applications

Consistentlyreviewingthe designs and code of team members, often in collaboration withsoftware engineering managers,colleaguesandarchitects

Helpingdesign, code,debugand test unit test solutions asrequired

Partneringwithproductmanagementand software engineering managersto define a multi-year vision, strategy, and technical product roadmapand backlogto support the continued growth of e-commerce and mobile technologies

Executingcode analysis, requirements analysis, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis

Remainingcommitted to a service-oriented design and analysis

Conductingregular unit testing and quality assurance

Executingperformance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation

Workingto support,maintainand document new and existing solutions

Continuingtoidentifyand evaluatenew technologiesfor implementation

Actingas a technical escalation point for theweb developersorarchitectson teams

Ensuringthe team are knowledgeable and available to provideapplication support for software running in production365/24/7;andjoiningthe team in handling incidentsthat require escalation

Collaboratingand contributingto the continuous improvement of Arc’teryx SDLC, Project and othermethodology

Workingwith project managers and program managers on project resourcing by ensuring developers are available at the right time, with the right skill set

Checkingin with project managers and technical leaders to ensure team performance and direction is on track to achieve project goals to scope,timeand budget

Contributing to and owning technical design decisions that positivelyimpactthe software architecture of the Arc’teryx e-commerce and web application platform

Building and delivering maintainable, high-quality software to support the growth and maintenance of a best-in-class ecommerce experience

Implementing best in class developer experiences through team building events, knowledge sharing sessions, and other initiatives

Contributing to our Engineering Guild and helping raise the technical bar at Arc’teryx

Are you our next Manager, Software Engineering?

You are an experience people leader, able to translate and interpret technical knowledge and data into digestible business language, with the following technical competencies and experience;

You have 5+ years’ experience leading front end andback-enddevelopers

You have 5+ years’ development experience in an Agile/Scrum environment

You have7+ years’ experience Full Stack web development

You have 4+ years’ experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento)

You haveadvancedknowledge and experience with back-end web technologies (PHP,Node, etc.), ERP systems and integrations, and database technologies (MSSQL, MySQL)

You haveknowledge of front-end web technologies (Javascript, React,NextJS,HTML,CSS, etc.)

You have experience with Jira or similar scrum tools

You have experience with Git or other source control tools

You have experience with CDN implementation and management

You have experience with Content Management Systems and Information Architecture

You are proactive inidentifyingthe root cause of issues and developing solutions

Youremainhighly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

Youare able tobalance autonomy and collaboration

You have strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills

You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

You have strong written and spoken English

Compensation: The salary range for this role is CAD$108,000 - CAD$142,000

Total Rewards Most new team members join between the start and midpoint of the range, where you can contribute right away while continuing to grow your craft, your collaborations, and your impact at Arc’teryx. This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
