Experienced Senior Estimator for Complex Projects

Job Description

Carlson Construction Group is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to develop precise estimates for marine and heavy civil projects in British Columbia. This senior role combines leadership, strategy, and technical skills to drive successful outcomes.

In this position, you will manage multiple tenders, evaluate risks, and collaborate with project teams to ensure competitive and accurate bid submissions. Your leadership will influence estimating strategies and mentor junior staff, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement in proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage tenders through the entire bid lifecycle

• Analyze tender documentation for risks and opportunities

• Conduct detailed risk assessments and recommend strategies

• Review subcontractor quotations for accuracy

• Provide mentorship and support to junior estimating staff

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar

• 8+ years of experience in heavy civil or marine estimating

• Proficient with estimating software like HeavyBid

• Strong skills in Excel, AutoCAD, and MS Project

• Excellent analytical and leadership skills
