Senior Full-Stack Developer – Accessibility & Inclusive Technology (Contract, Remote – Canada) Clearance: Government screening may be required

We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Developer to help build equitable, accessible digital systems that work for everyone. This role focuses on embedding accessibility into all layers of software — front-end components, back-end systems, and the testing pipelines that hold them together.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional team rethinking how people access vital public services online, contributing to a more inclusive future by writing clean, accessible, and thoughtful code.

What You’ll Do Develop accessible front-end and back-end systems using modern frameworks and tools

Build with inclusive, semantic HTML , strong ARIA practices, and assistive tech compatibility

Participate in manual and automated accessibility testing , debugging issues from a user-centered lens

Contribute to VPATs, ACRs , and documentation that supports long-term compliance and transparency

Collaborate with designers, testers, and product teams to improve accessibility outcomes across the board

What We’re Looking For 6+ years of experience in full-stack or frontend development

Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA), keyboard navigation, and responsive design

Experience working with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, manual screen reader testing)

Comfortable working in agile, iterative teams and adjusting to evolving needs

Strong communication skills — especially around access and usability
