Scientist: Machine Learning & Biological Data Systems

Job Description

Amgen is seeking a Scientist in Biological Data Systems and Machine Learning to make a significant impact on patient care. This role merges research, data systems, and ML for innovative solutions.

As part of the Digital Discovery team, you will facilitate a deep integration of scientific data and machine learning. In this role, you'll define data architectures, optimize workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline our processes. We're looking for an individual passionate about both biological research and data science.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure robust data lineage and interoperability

• Identify and curate proprietary legacy datasets

• Translate scientific workflows into digital formats

• Support the development of ML models and analysis tools

• Drive the adoption of data systems best practices

Requirements:

• PhD in Biology, Bioengineering, or related field

• Bachelor’s degree + 5+ years of experience

• Expertise with large-scale data and ETL

• Proficiency in Python and data modeling

• Experience in cross-functional work environments
