Job Description

Join HelloFresh's Ingredient to Product tribe as a Staff Backend Engineer. This position in Toronto focuses on building scalable solutions and driving operational success through cutting-edge technology.

This role involves strategic collaboration with business leads and engineering teams to address technical gaps and manage production systems. You’ll set engineering standards, lead architectural decisions, and ensure seamless performance of menu operations. Your mentorship will also guide engineers across various squads, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design infrastructure for efficient menu operations

• Translate business needs into scalable engineering solutions

• Establish best practices for APIs and system design

• Lead technical projects from conception to implementation

• Contribute to overall engineering standards and practices

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering

• Expertise in Python, Kotlin, and Go

• Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud architectures

• Deep understanding of distributed systems and APIs

• Familiarity with AI coding agents in development
