With an annual budget of $3.5 million and a committed team of 25+, NECRC is seeking skilled Executive Director with strong connections to the North End to lead our dynamic organization toward greater community impact and sustainable growth.

About NECRC:

NECRC is a non-profit organization committed to revitalizing the North End of Winnipeg. Our mission is to address our community's diverse needs with focus on, safety initiatives, economic development, housing, recreation, food security, and cultural enrichment.

Role Overview:

As the Executive Director, you will be the driving force behind NECRC's strategic vision and operational excellence. Working closely with our Board of Directors, your responsibilities will include comprehensive management tasks such as strategic planning, policy development, administrative oversight, and promoting a workplace culture of respect, safety, and inclusion, fostering collaboration and consensus among stakeholders to realize our shared goals.

Responsibilities:

Lead the ongoing execution of NECRC's strategic plan, aligning with community priorities

Collaborate with the Board to develop effective governance policies

Provide administrative oversight and foster a culture of respect and inclusion

Drive strategic and operational planning

Budget management

Develop and execute fundraising strategies to ensure financial sustainability

Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, training, and evaluation

Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders, including both government and non government agencies community, and media

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields (e.g., Economic Development, Community Development, Business, Social Work)

Minimum 3 years of senior management experience

Familiarity with North End of Winnipeg

Experience with financial management

Collaborative leadership style

Project and risk management skills

Demonstrated understanding of community development practices and economic empowerment

Ability to lead diverse teams and foster inclusion and equity

Exceptional communication and public speaking skills

Strong understanding of systemic barriers faced by Indigenous Peoples

Proven track record of building relationships across sectors

High level of political acumen

Comprehensive level of skill and comfort with Technology

Ethical, diplomatic, and resilient

Conflict resolution skills

Experience in grant writing and resource development

Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
